Sakura Addiction Week (so the comm event organisers call it) began on Halloween and lasted a week during which the Reborn LJ comm (read: 6918 fans) enjoyed a rare but modest influx of 6918-flavoured fanwork submissions.
So I said to Kanae, “Hey, we’ve left that meme we were doing hanging for ages. This is the perfect time to darn get it finished before the week ends!”

Happy Hallowen 09!
I made it again this year!! *____* This year’s Halloween, to me, is a rainbowy one.
I wish I could’ve done the entire group, but then I’d be late for Halloween. Yes, these look more like Lent’s Carnevale attires than Halloween costumes. Kirui even commented that all I need now is an armada in the background ahahaha (unrelated).
Aa… R11 is tomorrow o////o Gosh I’m so nervous… I’ve never done a solo release before so I don’t know what to expect. I hope we’ll do okay.

So.
And this is my R11 circle cut. Never thought I’d actually feature Chrome in a cut seeing how in our first comic event we were represented by Tsuna and thereafter it had always been Hibari Hibari Hibari. Going back to one’s roots feels jolly nice, woot~ First time that we’d be sitting among “normal pairing” circles, too… I wish I could come to see what it feels like being in that section. I mean. Every time I went there at Natsucomi it was always rife with Chrome (if not guyxHaru or, uh, HibaPin) but quite little in number. It’s definitely grown since the last time I saw it, though.
So. The story this time around. I would call it “PWP that eventually adopted a semblance of plot and later lost all its PWP elements” thanks to the inclusion of ONE extra character. The things I do for you, —. I had a lot of grief trying to kick-start this project and modifying what was (and probably still is) a bland and nonsensical script that I was still tinkering with the story even halfway into finishing this project! Thanks to that, I lost a bit of confidence in the process of drawing it - not to mention this’ll be my first ever solo release (Ferrum was invited to a X27 anthology - see, going back to our roots!) so I can’t help but feel ahhhh nervous.
I’m greatly satisfied regardless as I had wanted to go back to 1896 for a long time. Ironically, while it is my Reborn OTP, it’s also not something I cover very often. I find myself doing 6918 most of the time since not only is it sort of more comfortable for me to present to my audience, I find that, lately 1896 has been… …..
…..I lost my train of thought there. But anyway, there have been several problems with regards to production and I’m hoping whatever solution Ferrum comes up with would get this doujin to R11. I really really really want to make it to what’s probably going to be the last Reborn-only Zenkoku event ;_____; And we’re going to be in the normal pairing section, too…

So tired
I barely have time to do anything else nowadays OTL. My friends have been putting up with my whining about my hectic school schedule on a daily basis PLUS this R11 project won’t draw itself, sooo. But don’t get me wrong - I love being in fashion school but I wish it didn’t slow down my doujin progress…..
Oh, yeah… Everyone who’s participating in R11 should have their space number by now. According to Ku, there will be about 2417 circles at the event which is like… 1100 more applicants than the last Reborn-only event. It’s sad but I agree that everyone’s probably gearing up for one of the last Reborn-only events in Japan ;____;. I mean, I’m ready to sacrifice sleep, coursework and social life to get this project to the printer, too! Anyway, the event committee uses interesting kanji codes to mark each section - I have 黒 (most likely the Koku in Kokuyou) while the Dino section has 馬. Though we won’t be in the Hibari/Yamamoto/Gokudera hall (I guess wherever Banyu is, that hall will get the most action) I’m glad Ferrum and Ayli would be away from the sea of people ^^”.
I wish I could be there! I’d like to meet my fellow Hibakuro circles in person, but I doubt that could happen until next year’s Natsucomi most probably. If not next year’s Fuyucomi…? Hopefully. I’d love to be able to spend one new year’s eve in Japan.
In other news, Ferrum and I guested among 32 other artists for Yam Gene’s Hetalia artbook which will be ready by November according to the organisers. I felt happy and honoured when I received Sou’s invite first thing in the morning! Never imagined drawing for Hetalia and even seeing it printed, ever. The list of contributors - now that I’ve finally seen it - is quite a formidable one and I wondered for a bit what on earth am I doing there XDDD. I’m only hoping I haven’t butchered my chosen Hetalia character. Er.
As it says. I had ample amount of free time today to work on that unfinished page and move on to the next one, but procrastination happened as I had a sudden urge to draw the Arcos. And deadline is in less than 1.5 months while undergoing full-time schooling. I. Have to discipline my work ethic. Pronto. Either lose sleep until October or cut down on images while increasing speech bubbles + face shot quota LOLOL.
I gotta do my best ;____;. Last Reborn-only big event. Ahh…
Anyway, I was looking at anime screencaps on Racconti di Arcobaleno (the blogsite that focuses on summarising the filler episodes and compiling images of the Arcos and whatnot) and fell in love AGAIN with the babies especially baby!Fon who of course looks like baby!Hibari and… wao. That was probably to blame for this procrastination.
Lastly, yes, I know my adult Reborn doesn’t look canon. In fact, I object to canon adult Reborn’s stylistic slimness (and that ever-present shadow-over-eyes effect - I don’t know what is it you’re trying to hide, Amano) considering he’s a hitman orz orz.
Last lastly, I didn’t realise I was missing Viper until someone told me. I am missing Verde on purpose, though… Just pretend he’s on the other end, staring back at his fellow Arcos, since he’s supposed to be a villain.

Our usual printing place somehow managing to make our cover art look, er, different than what we expected again (it’s not an excess of magenta ink this time, haha) ASIDE. We’re very happy to receive this on our doorstep early this week. Their brand new state-of-the-art black and white printer is super sharp as usual (it picks out the slightest shift in blacks OTL and the finest stray lines OTL OTL) so I’m satisfied all the same.
Eee~ EN-SYN’s 3rd Reborn fanbook *___*. Or is it 4th? Certainly, the portfolio one doesn’t count? When I was working on my debut, I didn’t think I’d get to my second one, even. There’s a sense of satisfaction and accomplishment(?) there…

And pitch-manipulated Macross Frontier songs… I’ve been looping those “Sherio and Ranta” MADs like crazy because… hey… I LOVE Macross F songs so you can do almost anything to ‘em and I’ll still love ‘em. Especially when sung (supposedly) by guys. I would love to see guys sing Macross F songs *___*
This is for Ferrum who went Sherio-crazy last night. By the way, Ferrum and I nearly channeled this Sherio and Ranta while on a free-time karaoke session in Higashi-Ikebukuro. We were determined to sing every single Macross F songs (even started off with Ninjin Loves You Yeah!) and even had a crack at Nyan Nyan Service Medley the Tokumori version TWICE x___x. But that sure was fun! The next morning we didn’t get up until midday…

I think I can ship Reborn/Luce now *____*. The “filler” arc. I’m in love with it. I wish these moments between fellow Arcobalenos would last a while longer~~~ Mostly, I’m happy that we finally get to see Reborn’s personality pre-transformation.
…Among other very well done aspects in the anime. Continuity, Miss Mangaka - let’s see more of that in the manga. Now… I wonder who Aria’s papa is. Or whether those Giglionero women need men at all to conceive the next Sky Arcobaleno o__o
Now I really feel like drawing a mafia-oriented gen story for our next release, but but but there’s not enough time ;_____; Aa, gen, I want to do gen.

I HEART Kirui!
When I came upon the second relative, I knew I just had to draw the two together~ Based on Kirui’s Five Relatives Hibari Kyouya Never Had. How nostalgic! I felt as if I were drawing Kyouka instead of Kasu’s Kyouna (what’s the difference, really).
